Tragic Craigslist Excuses for giving up DJing (and other classifieds)

I’ll start…

Numark DJ Turntables - $125 (New Albany, OH)

" I wanted to learn how to be a DJ, but I hit a deer with my car last night so I need money to fix my car."

I accidentally searched technics in columbus after looking at that and found this pair of M3Ds for $600.

I bet you could buy them for $450

Then throw a drop in LED kit (super easy to install, no soldering) Kenali QQ589 - Slot, Casino, dan Permainan Digital Interaktif di Indonesia and then some cheap new wires.

And then pairs like that sell for $1000+ on ebay for a couple hours of work. Easy money.

jesus I wish I was in columbus I eat deals like these up

pair of technics 1200 MK3s for $275 http://columbus.craigslist.org/msg/2737169705.html

jump on that and make some money!

What about the deer? Is he ok?

I must go to Columbus!

I was all over them like a rash but the dude would not respond!

christ! i wish i was in the states! theyre nowhere near that cheap here!!

indeed man. buying a whole deer in europe is a total rip off.
don´t get caught hunting without a license!

As a former Ohio resident, let me tell you why so much cheap DJ gear can be found there.

IT’S THE MOST DEFEATING ENVIRONMENT FOR ELECTRONIC MUSIC YOU CAN POSSIBLY FIND.

I’ve had nights where I was offered $40 to play an AC/DC track, most Midwesterners are set in what they already know, and new music is rejected. Also, the Columbus dance scene is now flooded with DJs who only play bangers and dubstep, it’s pretty dismal.

And that’s why I moved to Denver and got involved with Beta Nightclub, fuck Ohio.

As some who lives in Cleveland, I would be utterly offended by that if it weren’t true.

I watched Designer Drugs play in Cleveland, it was a bummer to see the place 1/3 filled.

I’m looking to start a rescue fund for talented people stuck in the rust belt, ah what a lovely thing that would be. It’s actually noted that people from areas like that excel better in big cities.

Stay strong my man!

That’s funny cause there’s a club in Waterloo, Ontario called Beta that pretty much
only play bangers and dubstep
lol.

Trust me, this one takes the cake.

And yes they do have a dubstep night, but thankfully there’s a secondary club upstairs that plays minimal/techno that night. It’s also completely designed to cater to the DJ, there’s 6 15" subwoofers in the DJ booth alone

I am up in Waterloo every few months or so… might check it out if there’s something interesting happening mid-week (there for work).

As for “It’s actually noted that people from areas like that excel better in big cities.” I am from the UK so I’m impervious to the rust belt’s worse horrors.

Ah hah, well then that’s probably a good thing. How’d you end up in CLE? It’s amazing how many people I’ve met that get “stuck” in Ohio, hope that’s not the case.

Nice nice, that club definite seems like a more classy venue. Beta in waterloo still doesn’t have a liquor license after more than a year of being open (5$ bottles of water helps them stay in business though :/), though I must admit I’ve had a good time almost every show I’ve been to there. I wish there would be places with dubstep nights that cater to the deep and chilled out dubstep, not brostep.

Give me a heads up the next time you’ll be about and I’ll let you know if there are any good shows going on. It’s mostly geared towards us university students though, which the way I’ve been feeling about things for the last 6 months makes me say “I’m too old for this shit” half the time lol.

I am too old for this shit all of the time.

He was deported. I cannot reveal the details but it involved a sheep, 3 rugby players a gallon of cooking oil and a funnel.

First degree slathering.
