Traktor 1.2.7
this might sound silly but does anyone know where i can get a legal copy from im in the uk and its been a nightmare only seem to be able to get pro 2 which i don’t want as im learning on 1.2.7

Why wouldn’t you want to learn on 2?
Try opening a “Wanted” thread in the Buy & Sell section.
guy thats teaching me uses 1.2.7 so thought it would make sense to keep it the same
If he’s a teacher he should be using the latest version of the software.
Maybe it’s a mate.
I do not think you need the latest and greatest of something to teach on the subject. I think a true knowledge of the art and the ability to adequately convey your messages to your pupil are much more important then having the latest and shiniest toys.

im also wanting to use my vestax spin which just doesn’t want to work with traktor 2 works great with 1.2.7
he let me have a shot of both versions and i felt more comfortable using traktor pro
If you’re struggling to find 1.2.7, the price of Pro 2 is only 90ish dollars (Or for $110, you can get the Audio2 soundcard included).
While I agree that you don’t need the fanciest toys to learn, It’s incredibly cheap for the fully fledged version of the software. You’re going to get all the same basic functions out of any software, whether it’s Serato, Djay, Traktor or whatever, they all play music. You’re not really gaining much by starting back a few version revisions, but you will likely lose money if you chose to upgrade (I don’t believe there is an upgrade path from Traktor 1 to 2 anymore).
That being said, the layout between 1 and 2 is very similar, your mentor should have no troubles showing you how to dj with either version.
i do agree in principle but the other problem is the spin wont work with pro 2 so that means also buying another controller
i do plan to upgrade to a better one i just wanted a few months on the spin for me to learn on and prob wear it out lol
Oops Sorry, I must have been writing my post when you replied and missed it. Didn’t realise you were using a Vestax Spin. I had a quick look around, and there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of mappings for Pro 2.
Ah well, sorry I couldn’t be of more help! Scour Craigslist/Gumtree/Ebay and Create a Wanted Thread in DJTT I suppose
I will dig for my spin over the weekend and see if I can find a mapping that works with 2.
Vestax Spin/Typhoon : 4 Decks Mapping (Traktor TSI) This worked with 2.5.1 to move the controls of four decks for me in 4 regular deck mode with my spin. I didn’t hook up the audio but the mapping moved the crossfaders switched to C and D and moved the eq and filter on all decks. I really like this mapping a lot, it is super sweet and reels the limitations of the Spin back quite a bit. I prefer it in some ways a more robust controller.
thanks for that i did try it il need to check what version of pro 2 i was using ordered a s2 last night just waiting on it arriving too
