Traktor 1.2 not working with maschine? Anyone else have problems?
Hi,
So i just got my Maschine, and loaded up the traktor mapping in traktor and all seems good but when i go to activate a 4 bar loop then look to alter the length with the volume knob which the mapping suggests, traktor skips staright to a 1/32 bar and i can’t lengthen it, its like the knob keeps on thinking i’m turn it left? Has this happened to anyone else?
And when i press button 2 up top to activate fx2 in chained mode, it starts the track again from the beginning! This is so annoying and i’ve no idea whats the problem?
Also i just realises knob 7 and 8 are way to sensitive, they go from 1 to 127 too quickly, can this be altered?
sounds like a problem with your mapping. could of possibly occured with a traktor update? you should double check to see all your mappings are legit. a quick an easy to do this is to go to your midi map section, create an arbitrary controller, press learn then move the controller that is acting funny. this will then highlight the rest of the controllers you have mapped to that specific knob or button. go through all the highlighted controllers and double check to make sure they are set up corectly
theres a tsi for it, could it be to do with the fact its traktor 1.2 and that this custom mapping is out of date?
I can’t seem to find anyone that uses the maschine to control traktor yet, i’ve tried over a native instruments too. i’ll try tho what the guy down below says althought i’m retarded at that!
ok no i’m baffled, i did exactly as you said, created a new tsi, so everything is blank then i added select fx3 amount which is the knob that was giving me problem pressed learn and again the knob went from 0 to 127, it didn’t go up evenly like the others, i tried the other knobs on same command and 5 of the 8 knobs worked. Like i said i’m baffled because these knobs work perfectly in maschine as a standalone and not in midi. Anymore ideas? thanks again, i wish someone else who had a maschine could comment.
Right. I meant try changing the interaction mode in the TSI. So instead of the type being Absolute KNob/Fader, changing it to relative Knob and seeing what happens.
It’s a way until someone hopefully comes along who has a Maschine. Also, checking the Native Instrument forums can’t hurt
changed it to realtive and reduced the sensitivity and what i get now is that it slowly goes from 0 to 5 then skips thourh to 127 and flickers all over the place. And aswell when i rotate button 2 on FX 1 it also restarts the song in deck A, i don’t even know how that could happen.
Hey, I’m using the Maschine to control Traktor. I don’t have any problems with it but I mapped it myself. I’m pretty sure the problem lies somewhere within the tsi. I’ll have a look at the stock tsi and see if I can reproduce this behavior when I’m at home…
I’m sorry, I couldn’t reproduce your errors. I loaded NI’s stock tsi and everything works as described in the pdf.
I can change the loop size in both decks with the knobs. Of course, when I turned the knob the first time after initializing Traktor, it jumped straight to any value because Traktor didn’t seem to know the current state of the knob. But this isn’t unusual and happens immediately after you start Traktor and turn knobs the first time.
Did you know that you can adjust the knob resolution and range in the controller editor? Maybe you should try tweaking the settings there.
The Thing is i think the first time i used the maschine, everything worked ok, i was hoping to use the controller simultaneously with the nanokontrol. I think i had both them working at one point but not sure. Could this be a problem? Also i think i mentioned elsewhere that the .tsi that i upload is in my Native Instruments from traktor and is possibly an old tsi file. What is the point of the controller editor? I used it like the Video shows but where does it save? Do you get yours working fine with traktor 1.2? The knobs work fine when i’m using maschine standalone but are you saying that i might have messed with them in the editor? I’ve looked in the editor and can’t see where to change this tho?
To adjust the knob settings:
click on the knob in the controller editor
on the right side of the window click “Assign”
I tested NI’s tsi with TPRo 1.2.2 so that won’t be the problem. Your “Chained FX on + CUP” issue looks like a clash between the nano’s assignment and Maschine…
Their settings are exactly the same as the knobs that are working correctly.
I also deleted the nanokontrol tsi so why is it still clashing with the maschine tsi, and also what do you use to EQ with maschine then?
Again thanks so much for all the help, its greatly appreciated!
Unfortunately I haven’t been that much of a help for you. Just shooting in the dark…
When you say you deleted the nano tsi, do you mean
*) you literally deleted the file from your hd
*) or actually delete the controller from the settings in traktor?
I use both the Maschine and the VCI and have the mixer and transport controls mapped to the vci. I use the Maschine for 4 Deck HotCues, Loops, BeatJumps, for FX slot 3&4.
