Traktor Auto Gain
I have been testing out using auto gain instead of setting the output manually, however it seems traktor consistantly puts waaaaay too much gain and it clips the outputs pretty consistantly.
Anyone else have problems with auto-gain overgaining?
I haven’t had clipping problems with my audio in T3.4, and the little I’ve used TPro for mixing hasn’t given me any serious issues either.
I got the same problem when I tried that function. But, I didn’t care 'cause I’m using an external mixer.
Just because your using an external mixed doesnt mean you dont have to set the gain correctly - if the gains too high in the software you will still get digital cliping even if your mixing externally.
Has the Master Limiter given you any luck in this?
The master limter just serves to make it so the digital peaking doesnt sound as horrible when it does peek.
Yeah, I can understand that.
I’ve actually found the autogain to be extremely helpful pulling the levels of a lot of my older tracks to compete with the newer ones.
I don’t use the auto-gain feature 'cause the clipping problem. Just manual, in the mixer.
My point was is that you still have to set the gain correnctly inside of Traktor to get the maximum output you can without digital clipping - then use the gain on the external mixer to get an equal volume level to the other track happening. This way you get the optimum sound quality.
