traktor freezing

traktor freezing

hi

when i was mixing today i accidently touched the usb cable connecting my hercules rmx to my laptop (traktor) and it freezed ?

is this an issue i should address

Touched or pulled out ? .. if your unit was disconnected traktor will freeze.

Check if “touching” it again disconnects the unit, could just be a dodgy USB cable, could be the USB port on the hercules or could be the usb port on the laptop.

a light touch =]

Refer to the above … try re-creating the problem touching a bit more roughly at all the ports first of all, if you can’t re-create the issue, It might be a breakage somewhere along the cable.

prob a cheap ass cable

Just posting because I like Ireland.

^dont derail a legitimate thread…

Try different cables in your RMX, and jiggle them, bang them, shake em around and see if they do the same. You want to find out:
-is it the cable
-is it the connection to the unit
-is it your laptop

Also, are you running off of fully powered USB ports? I find that one of my ports won’t always power my external, but the other one will.

no i turned them off as it is recomended buy hercules =]

Sorry, what did you turn off?

the usb power =]

Ah, I dig. Try turning it back on, and run through the process again of moving the cable and see what that does.

 report L8r

yea either you lightly pulled on the cable and unplugged it because when you unplug midi from your computer while running traktor itll freeze, or as said before you have a break in the cable

nope just a very light touch … brushed off it

Kontrol X1. Sorted

Unless I missed something the X1 doesn’t have a sound card - or Jogwheels, or line/phono inputs … or … well lots of other stuff :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh and they screw up too if its a shitty usb cable :stuck_out_tongue:

I had the same issues with my Hercules controller when I had one.. every once in awhile it would just freeze traktor up and I would have to restart the program for it to work again. Not sure what the origin was of this issue but I don’t think it is usb cables because I would switch mine out and still periodically see this issue. My solution was to sell the controller and upgrade to something else and ever since I had no issues. Did you check to make sure your drivers are up to date from the Hercules website?

The x1 did have this issue as well but it was fixed with the latest update. It use to be where you would unplug the x1 and it would mess traktor up. Learned this lesson when I would try to pack up near the end up the night and go on and unplug the x1 only to have epic fails…

cool .. im poor so upgrade is no =] everything is up to date its part of my o.c.d .. lol
