The update will include the following improvements:
New / improved features:
Individual Keylock, FX Enable and Headphone Cueing for sample deck slots
Multi-core processor support
Automatic jogwheel calibration for Kontrol S2 and S4
New option for additional mixer headroom
ID3 v2.3 Tag compatibility
Option to disable Sample Auto-Save
Jump size display when hovering over stripe
Improved Setup Wizard
Fixes
GUI tempo fader decoupled from Scratch and Tempo Bend
Pitch Bend behavior on stopped deck fixed
Cueing accuracy of CD timecode fixed
Core Audio sample rate matching fixed
I’m predicting multi-core processor pain for some until they iron out the bugs… the sample deck keylock must make multi-core necessary. On the other hand, yay, my MBPro Quad-core is about to ship…
Yeah, they said that was actually difficult to fix. Traktor produces the waveform in realtime from the buffered audio (not the saved stripe). So they’ve gotta rethink the entire buffer process.
Multi-screen support has never been mentioned. I think it is unlikely to be implemented for quite some time, mainly because the vast majority of DJ’s will use a single screen when playing out anyway.
The sample decks improvements are simply great! it’s been a long wait, but at least it’s a reality now (well, at least for the beta group )
funny that they don’t mention the NHL/HID user mapping improvement as hinted in the S2 DJTT article … I wouldn’t be surprised if NI are simply underestimating the customizers and consider us a minority LOL
Yes if the NHL/HID user mapping transparency is not happening with S4, that would be really nasty, the flagship product has less customization options than the cheaper version…
I doubt so. It’s been promised in the TOR thread and it seems they are delivering it. It’s very unlikely that it will not be immediately available for the S4 & the X1, but it’s possible.
i’ve stopped implementing my mapping ideas just because I don’t want to them now with limitations and the neutralization cheats and then redo them properly in the autumn. I’m not sure I can keep my mapping enthusiasm down for much longer LOL
Not confusing really; the overwhelming majority of people would continue to just take their laptop to gigs regardless of multi-screen support. This is the reason there is no multi-screen support. It wouldn’t be used that much (coming from someone with 2 screens at home). It falls in the ‘would be nice for some people’ category and not in the ‘essential for everybody’ category.
