Traktor S2 + Akai LPD8 or Digital Jockey 3 ?

Traktor S2 + Akai LPD8 or Digital Jockey 3 ?

So i’ve got a budget of 520 EUR and i’m looking to finally purchase a midi controller…

I already own an Akai LPD8 and have been using it solo to control Traktor for a long time now. The way I see it, my two options are:

  • Traktor Kontrol S2 + LPD8 controller
  • Reloop Digital Jockey 3 Master Edition

If I go with the Kontrol S2 ill save about 100 EUR. Is this the better idea or is the Digital Jockey 3 in a different league altogether to the S2?
I’ll be using whichever controller I purchase to play a residency in a local club within the next two months so I need to know whether the Kontrol S2 + LPD8 has the same capabilities as the Jockey 3

I’d go for the s2, you can also have a great mapping for it from djtechtools.
If you want to make it more complete, sell the lpd8 and with the spare money buy a x1, or second hand x1.

But hey, do you mind playing 4 deck or only 2 + samples deck?
