Traktor Scratch bpm is at 2/3 of the track speed.

Traktor Scratch bpm is at 2/3 of the track speed.

So everyone knows about the doubling/halfing the speed, that i’m used to and don’t mind, but now, Traktor Scratch is setting tracks (drum and bass) that are usually between 160-178 to 120-125 bpm.

FYI, my bpm range is set to 90-179 to avoid halftime problems.

Also, something that’s unusual is that even though my range is between 90-179, almost all the tracks that aren’t at that weird 120 bpm are at 87-88 even though my range does not allow it. (still drum and bass)

Anyone noticing this 2/3 of the original bpm problem with your tracks?

I usually analyse my d&b at 150-185 tbh

Trust your ears instead…you dont need bpm numbers!

All well and good until you use loops; or quantized beatjumps; or quantized hotcues; or tempo-synced FX; or stuff in the sample decks, when your ears will be telling you that you should’ve gridded the track properly

i’ve been on vinyl and cdjs for years but i also want to know why this behavior even exists when the settings don’t allow it ie - bpm range from 130-179 and getting bpm on tracks at 87 or 124, etc..
