Traktor Sound Problems Popping & Crackling

Traktor Sound Problems Popping & Crackling

So I know I’ve spoken to a couple people but I’m still having crackling and popping of sound in Traktor. I can’t get it to play without popping. I have turned down the master output, engaged limiter disengaged limiter, closed all applications, really tried everything I can think of. Anyone having the same problems?

Have you tried raising the latency of your external sound card, if your using one that is??

I would say start at the middle of your latency settings and work your way back down. I would say anywhere around 10ms should be fine. (Don’t want to start a latency WAR guys)

ive gone to 30ms and still getting popping. Ean was clueless about it too. I’m stumped.

I get the same when my laptop is not connected to the power supply and only run on battery. Maybe this could be an issue for you?

try turning off your wireless internet connection on your laptop. Someone on the N.I. forums mentioned that.

@jaredf

What version of Osx are you using? Osx 10.5.2 is a known culprit for this issue. I lowered my latency form 11.5ms to 4. and whlle the poping is not totally gone it’s no longer noticable.
Good Luck!

Power’s plugged in.. And yes i have osx 10.5.5. I have a feeling its osx incompatability.

And yes both blutooth and wifi are off when I’m trying to get this to work right. =\

Key Lock

Is it on? What Algorithm are you using?

I have to use key lock. and I try on all the audio processing setting with no luck. If I cant use keylock why bother using this program? Kinda irritates me.

Easy killer…I haven’t even judged you. Jesus.

Load up a song that you know causes pops. Turn off Key Lock. Reload the song. Does the problem still occur?

I know when I was experiencing this I knew what songs and at what points of the song the ‘popping’ would occur.

I dropped my algorithm down to the one for ‘Slow CPU’ (to the left of PSOLA) and it seems to work out a lot better for me.

what are those settings all about anyways!?

Well, I’m no computer programmer, but I do believe those different algorithms are supposed to give you better sounding Key Locking without artifacts as you go higher up. The downside is that they are more complex, so they use more cpu processing power.

Yeah you got it right there im pretty sure

Don’t forget to throw salt over your shoulder and stand on your right foot when starting Traktor.
