Beginner..have been trying to make a mix for a while now but unsuccessful at beat matching just want to know if decks would help or if i should just use controllers? already equipped with a behringer djx900usb
By decks do you mean jogwheels? I get along fine without em using a totally modular setup, trick is just knowing your tracks really well and using cues in Traktor to get around. I will concede that jogs are probably more convenient for track prep in general, but nowadays the sync function is far more than enough to get around beatmatching by ear. Mixing in key and astute track energy selection is what you want to look into to elevate beginner mixes, I did and it helped soooo much
it’s all about listening and developing an ear for music. it doesn’t matter if you’re on decks or a controller
