TSP 2 Sample Decks ???

TSP 2 Sample Decks ???

i am using 2 denon s3500 with a behringer ddm 4000 mixer using audio 8 interface and timecoded CDs … How can i get the sample decks to work ?? does anyone know of a tutorial ?? does it have to be set up threw the setup wizard ??? Thanks

Bump bump!!!

Umm… yeah I think we have a live one here. heh

Easiest route would be to use a mouse.

And then you know, you can try mapping the sample decks to some of the buttons on the DDM400. That would require a MIDI cable going from the mixer to your computer. Then creating a mapping in TSP2.

Other than that, I suggest purchasing a Kontrol X-1, Midi Fighter, or some other MIDI controller that you can program/map to make use of the sample decks.

Lol I understand and can do all that however my problem that I am having is that I’m not getting any sound out of my sample decks and I don’t know why ???

Could be any number of things. Have you RTFM?

what is RTFM???

There are tutorials in the manual. And YouTube

lmao thanks guys i appreciate it !! and feel retarded no lol thanks … however i downloaded the upgrade off the native page and when i go to the service center to look for the download of the manual for TSP 2 its not there ?? How do i get the manual ?? maybe off the native instruments site??? thanks

Open Traktor, click “Help” > Open Manual (or the equivalent in Windows)

To all of my fellow forum members who told me to RTFM about my sample deck problem in TSP 2 was no help i read the whole thing and it gives you no info on how to run the sample decks with external mixer ??? This sucks i am running TSP 2 with audio 8 interface with a behringer DDM4000 mixer and 2 denon s3500 cdjs with timecode control … Is there anyone out there that has a solution to this problem ??? from my research i found that many people have the same problem PLEASE HELPPPP !!! upcoming gigs soon need this problem solved

Dude,

What is your output routing setup? What channels are decks C & D assigned to? And then are you routing those outputs into the DDM4000?

Also samples start out muted even tho they are playing. Are you sure you are unmuting them?

I’m willing to bet that your problem is one of those 2 issues.

My output routing setup is :

Output Deck A
L: 1:open_mouth:ut 1: audio 8 DJ : ch A right
R: 2: out 2:audio 8 DJ : ch A left

Output Deck B
L: 3: out 3:audio 8 DJ :ch B right
R: 4: out 4:audio 8 DJ :ch b left

Output Deck C
L: 5: out 5: audio 8 DJ : ch c right
R: 6: out 6: audio 8 DJ : ch c left

Output Deck D
L: 7: out 7: audio 8 DJ : ch d right
R: 8: out 8: audio 8 DJ : ch d left

Output Preview
L: not connected
R: not connected

Out FX return
L: not connected
R: not connected

when u say am i routing them to the DDM 4000 do you mean with RCA cables or no ??
also I am definitely unmuting the sample decks however in some of my research people say to turn up the record gain in the sample decks ??? idk please help

Bump Bump

Yes I mean RCA cables. You have all 4 channels connected to your mixer right?

One thing you can try is route the sample decks to the same outputs as decks A & B. That would eliminate a lot of guesswork.

And might I suggest you post screenshots? You really aren’t providing a lot of info and expect us to figure all this shit out. And don’t ask how to do that either.

But man at this point you need to call a friend or NI support.

Set up 4 decks. Click on the deck letter. Probaly c and d and switch to sample deck.

yeah, i spotted the problem:

‘Out FX return
L: not connected
R: not connected’

this helped me spot it.

Because you using the audio 8, you need to plug the tape out of your mixer into the inputs 7 and 8, then in your audio settings, route those inputs to your effects on the inputs (EXT) then dadaaaaa it will work

I’m running timecode with tsp 2 as well. If you want to use the sample deck you have to have output Deck C routed to 5/6, then use a RCA from 5/6 on your audio 8 to a channel on your mixer. This should get you sound, but I still haven’t figured out how to have the sample synced perfectly.
