TSP2 Timecode options

Just installed my TPS2 and am ready for timecode but am very curious. Can timecode either be easily switched or mapped to the jogwheels on the s4, or do you have to use external tables for timecode to work. I have tables but i want to be able to use the timecode and scratch when i dont wanna drag them along. please help!

Time code is the physical CD or record that plays in or on the player. You don’t need/can’t use time with the S4. You just scratch on the jogs.

This i understand fully but the timecode does make it more fun. Like the vci-300 were non rotating jogs but timecode was still present. Just thought NI would maybe add it for fun to make it seem like they were spinning. So besides that any key differences in TSP2 and TP2 when just using s4?

Not if you’re just using the S4. However if you do plan on using Turntables, the big difference is…well…being able to actually use them.

I don’t think you understand. S4 and VCI-300 use HID / MIDI on the jogs, not timecode. Timecode allows you to control Traktor using CDJs or vinyl.

I think he means the little virtual spinning records on the screen in Scratch.
