Hope I’m not re-posting, but apparently Sennheiser is using a piece of foam that is blocking up to %50, %50! of the vents causing a restriction in the frequencies responses with the HD 555’s.
I pick up the sarcasm, but I don’t see how your comment makes any sense.
If the factory puts on the foam, and they shouldn’t do so in the 1st place. Its not very cost effective. Why would they pay to take it off? Somewhat confused now
I couldn’t let this post slide. This really kills any respect I have for Senn. products. The simple fact that a piece of .05 cents foam, is a difference of $150 is borderline criminal.
happens with all sorts of things in the tech industry.. whether it be a piece of foam or features locked in firmware etc, its been happening for years… and will continue to in the future
I love my HD25’s but this does concern me. This is like the kind of stuff I expect from MONSTER. I really hope they put out some kind of press release explaining themselves or at the very least apologize for gouging there customers.
This page will show you how to turn a $199.95 (Canadian – Suggested Retail) pair of Sennheiser HD 555 headphones into a pair of Sennheiser HD 595‘s that cost $349.95. And all you need is a screwdriver.
I love these - they can take it all and they are as close to unbreakable as you can get, but I heard the sound quality is a C+; design A+
They do NOT fold - bummer!
