Turntables in the Club
How do dj’s use turntables in a club without the needles bouncing from the bass and picking up interference through all the new wiring surrounding you. Whats your opinion on CDJ’s vs Turntables for the club environment? Right now im using a Kontrol s4 with some tables hooked up to them but it doesnt seem as efficient as i want and i still want some big form of platter to scratch on n such.
if you play on timecodes vs regular vinyl you dont get that much feed back. Even is the bass is turned up, you can go into Serato and make the scope smaller, traktor has a built in feat. if im not mistaken
yeah last time i tried the scope went from 2 perfect circles to big fuzzy blobs from feedback it seemed of other speakers and mixers. everything was grounded but still problems. and what can you do about skipping in the club needle wise
change the balance/ weight thing. foam pads under the table.
put something like foam pads under.
even under flight cases that are foam insolated?

Foam lined flightcases are CRAP for feedback reduction of turntables, the foam lining used is designed to absorb impacts NOT sound,
If any of the sides are touching any part of the turntable you will likely feedback more.
Technics and Vestax (and im sure other turntables) have quite good built in isolation in the form of the feet/lower body (Technics) feet/Tonearm suspension (Vestax).
Use Rockwool / Concrete slabs / Plywood or combination under the turntables if you need to reduce feedback more.
A thick MDF board (3/4) with pointy side of the screws sticking out the other side might also do the trick.
Oh and memory foam rather than regular “bouncy” Yellow foam if you want to try it its more sound absorbing
