Tutorial - How to make PCBs

If anyone is undergoing the mammoth task of creating your own controller this might be of interest (if you can’t do it already of course).

You can source a lot of the controller boards, but sometimes you need to create your own boards for buttons & pots etc. The one in the tutorial is for the Sparkfun Silicone Buttons. They only sell 4x4 PCBs for them and I needed 2x4’s and 3x4’s so had to make my own.

Nice midi controller design. Mostly buttons, some knobs.

I am liking your style!

nice, i was curious as to how one would do this. very helpful tutorial

Cheers guys, keep an eye on the blog, I’m just about to sit down over the weekend and get everything etched/soldered & connected.

Still waiting on the cases to turn up, but it should be all up and running within the next week or two ready to drop into the cases when they arrive.

That controller’s gonna be awesome!

Thanks man
I’ve spent a fair bit of time on it, I just hope it lives up to my expectations!
I SHOULD have the first one up and running by the end of the weekend. Nothing seems to be going wrong so far, so fingers crossed!
We’ll see what happens when I wire up the knobs for the first time today
