I’ve got Rua over Hendo in the third also, Faber over bowles UD, Silva over Le by 2nd round stoppage (though that may be the pride never die coming out in me) Martin Kampmann by stoppage over Rick Story (though I cant pick a round, just that when a guy gets screwed twice in a row like Martin has, I feel he’s going to stop an overmatched rick story) Bader over Brilz by UD, and I haven’t really thought much about the other fights on the card, though Miguel torres probably wins his fight also.
Frank Mir and Big Nog…WOW. Frank was jelly at one point, goes down and grabs Nog’s ankles…trying to recover and then they roll around a bit…Nog looks like he is going for an Arm Bar, then Frank rolls over gets the Cemora and breaks Nogs arm!!!
There is something about his personality that irks me! I dunno if its his dumb kinda smuggness, but I can not deny that he has AWESOME skill and technique.
He has been at it for years. His dad is a Karate trainer or summing innit?
He is a big powerful guy with skill. Dangerous! But I still LOVED how Bones Jones trashed Machida.
Jones trashing Machida, well, tbh, I was rooting for Machida. I think Jones is too stuck up and high on his own ego. I hope that he either settles down, or gets a firm beating that puts his feet back on the ground.
As the year comes to a close, we finally get to see two of the bigger heavyweights duke it out in the octagon!
I’m talking about UFC 141:
What are we talking about, two of the bigger heavyweights? Well, yes.
The stats speak for themselves.
Lesnar is big, freaking fast, a hefty pounder with wrestleskills that are amazing. It isn’t strange that he is a former UFC Heavyweight champ.
His opponent, The Reem, is no one to take lightly.
Former StrikeForce Heavyweight champ, K-1 Heavyweight GP champ, Dream Heavyweight champ and, as many people tend to forget, 2005 ADCC European Trials Champion.
So he also is a well rounded grappler.
My prediction for this is, that The Reem will overcome Lesnar in seeming fashion.
Main event consists of Jose Aldo vs ‘Money’ Mendes.
Will Aldo utilize his vicious legkicks to dominate or will Mendes take it to the ground and settle this war on his terms?
Two other matchups that look most promising:
Vitor ‘Phenom’ Belfort vs Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson
Even though people tend to give this fight to Rumble due to his Takedown skills and superior ground control, I tend to think that the Phenom will show off his freshly acquired GSP-wrestling skills in combination with his own vintage black belt BJJ and boxing skills.
You decide.
And last but not least, Rousimar Palhares vs Mike Massensio:
For this fight I’m rooting for the BJJ powerhouse called Palhares!
