There aren’t uninstallers. Service Center seems as useless as always. And TrashMe doesn’t find all of the files I know are associated with some of the crap I want to get rid of.
I’ve had Absynth, FM8, and Massive demos installed for a long time and haven’t used them since about 2 days into the demo periods. I want to get rid of them. I also kinda want to get rid of Komplete Elements and Guitar Rig selection for Maschine as I never use them.
Basically, I want to get rid of everything NI on my hard drive except Maschine and its expansions. And there aren’t any uninstallers. If I just delete the apps and plugins, a whole mess of crap will be left behind, and the presets won’t be deleted from my Maschine library.
That’s what TrashMe is, and it doesn’t find the sound libraries…just plists in the obvious places.
I’m not that worried…the big thing is figuring out how to purge all of the Reaktor, Kontact, Massive, FM8, Absynth, etc. and Guitar Rig FX patches from my Maschine library. I might just delete the stuff from /Users/Shared/ and see if that works.
Oh, wow. It seems to. Well, the Maschine library is sane, at least.
There is a NI Uninstaller app that also cleans the different plugins traces of the synths so they no longer show in Service Center. It’s not just a trash it uninstall (unless you know what you are doing and where to look for all of these files).
And I do know where to find those files (or at least how to find them), but doing it that way is at least as convenient. I’m not really sure why it’s bothering me so much all of a sudden except that it’s finally getting in the way of me finding the sounds I actually want to use in Maschine…and the Elements/Lite/Preview/Demo sounds are annoying as sin.
JesC, it’s actually /Users/Shared/. And deleting them from there fixed the Maschine library question. It’s apparently pretty good about that. I wonder if it’s as easy to get samples into it.
