Upgrade Kit DIY ?

is there a way to build your own upgrade kit; which parts are needed, has someone allready done it…is it worse it?

If you have a little electronics experiance its not that hard to do.
You need to build a RS -232 to TTl converter using a MAX-202 Transeiver or anything in that family.
Here is the connection diagram for the VCI upgrade port, and the schematic for the upgrade PCB
