Upgraded to Windows 7, need to re-import my mapping
So as the title said, I just upgraded to windows 7. I backed up all music as well as all Native Instruments files and folders for TPro. It seems like all my grids and hotcues are still here, but it won’t let me import my mapping I spent weeks on.
It appears to upload as all my effects go to their position, but the entire area is blank where all the custom mapping was done. It’s just blank…
No faders or knobs are working, I really need some help here. I don’t want to lose my mapping I worked so hard on.
I’m not sure where Traktor Pro saves the current mappings (or if it does at all)
Did you back up just the Traktor install folder or the folders it creates in your documents folder aswell?
You really should have used Traktors export function before upgrading windows, you could have imported that single file and everything would be as it was.
import has always worked flawlessly for me, did the version of traktor pro you are using change aswell (im pretty sure a midi mapping tsi should still work regardless)
Yep. I still got nothin. I have been reading about my controller, the Hercules Steel and see others have been having problems running it on 7. So I updated the drivers and still doesn’t work.
I’ll do some more reading but I think what I’m going to have to do is put Traktor on my home PC which still runs XP and just redo my whole mapping on my laptop based off of that.
OK, so the issue was that it did not re-download the latest version of traktor. It was still way back in 1.2.2. So I updated that and now I can upload my tsi mapping.
Ok well as is well with that, but now my controller is not picking up any of my mapping. No buttons or anything work even though I can see the mapping of them right in front of me. Ideas?
They aren’t selectable there anymore, so I assume it’s an issue now with the drivers or so with the Steel. I upgraded them to the lastest, but am still not seeing a compatibility mode for W7. I read others having success, but I can’t figure it out.
Sorted. Not 100% sure what the issue was, but something was wrong with my new Steel drivers they said would work for W7. After a clean re-install, all seems to be well. Now I can select Hercules Steel from the in and out ports and my mapping is still intact.
I just hope I never have to go through this again!
Well I spoke too soon. Now I am having dropouts for about 1/2 seconds every 30 seconds or so. I have played around with the latency settings and can’t get it to stop.
I know Bentosan had this issue and maybe others did too, so hopefully they can chime in.
No you know why? Because I am an idiot and completely overlooked the obvious. I forgot that my wireless internet connection was on and I am piggybacking off of a neighbors router which gives me a very very weak signal. It constantly trying to connect was causing CPU spikes and therefore dropouts.
Turned it off, fixed latency, now it’s back to normal.
