Unfortunately it can happen. I buy most of my songs, but not the ones that i cannot find on itunes/beatport/traxsource/trackitdown, or the ones that i’m 100% positive won’t be played more than once in the club.
If it comes to yt rips, i cue them and i only download and play the ones that sound the best, if it matters at all…
Hmm… If you brought all the gear in your sig, I’d say you were prepared there. But you really dropped the ball by not having the hottest Chinese songs in your library.

If you are into DJing, I think you better check out zipDJ. So far, I got what I wanted from their extensive catalog especially EDM. I’m subscribing for a month now and so far I’m really satisfied with it. Check it out, I tell you it’s worth the try.

No, the setup we bring to the club is just the ddj, the hercules , 2 laptops and a 4channel mixer. The s2 is a piece of junk i bought for 35€ and it doesn’t work at all, the x1 is currently being shipped to me
Different strokes for different folks… Don’t get it twisted i use a very respectable music pool and only use high quality tracks.
Dude is playing in Asia… have you ever played there? i have, if you did kool lol… The stuff that gets produced out there varies so much in quality…
yeap listen to them and use your judgement. on the tracks that your not sure about play those at full volume during sound check and see how it goes good luck man rock that shit be positive and do you!!!
Well not playing in asia, but playing for some asian men that could bring us some great business deals so it’s kind of the same 
Also, why are most chinese songs slow 80’s-style or hiphop? i can’t find any 128bpm stuff except a couple tracks by some boybands…

Have you ever considered the man came in because he likes the music you DJ anyway? A lot of English DJs get DJ gigs abroad because they are exactly that, English DJs, and as such know what the tourists want better than a native DJ.

Just be yourself, what’s the point of djing a set just for a guy, who maybe just want to listen and enjoy your personal way to DJ?
And there will be more people around, so take a look on them too
Play a set as you usually mix, and maybe you’ll find him more interested, than just mixing the music that is popular nowadays on China

They have Chinese pop tho, but it is nearly impossible to find the remix version of it unless you make one yourself.

I think you’re barking up the wrong tree. If you start playing loads of chinese music, you’ll kill the floor (not in the dubstep way) and even if he does like them, he’ll think you’re being a massive kiss ass.
I get a lot of polish guys asking me to play some Polish dance and when I say “I don’t have any” they are like “BUT VY NOT!?” to which my only reply is pointing out the 400 English people on the dance floor.
Thing is, i call it the “club”, but it’s more of a loungebar, so the dancefloor is usually a couple drunk chicks who will dance to anything you throw at them. The point was pleasing the guy
We’re used to drunk guys leaning over our gear asking for balkan music all the time, so unfortunately, in this “club”, there’s no killing the floor because paradoxically the floor is killed with every different genre of music we put on.
There’s a lot of balkan dance you can slip into a set sneakily though. I know I’d dance if someone dropped some balkan goodness. In fact I’d dance to anything, so it’s a moot point. Either way, just ask the guy what he likes and plug YouTube into the mixer. If it’s a loungebar system I doubt the sound quality will be too noticeable. Mix in with a talkover or however and then mix out as normal. Problemo solved!
EDIT: And you never know, he might say “I LOVE MADONNA” then you’ve got umpteen billion remixes to go for.
