urgent: Novation Twitch / Itch freezing for some seconds / music is still running

anyone using a novation twitch with itch (not traktor)?
a friend of mine is on tour right now and itch is freezing. music is running but for some reason he can´t control the program for some seconds. he just called me and i suggested that it could be the cpu and he should deactivate all processes and programs that don´t have to be used while djing (antivir, firewall, w-lan, bluetooth etc.)
anyone had that kind of problem before or any other solutions?

Usb cable? Maybe there is a bad connection inside the cable, and its causing the twitch to drop out.

restart hist computer. I had that problem and a restart fixed it

yep. it´s sounds like it´s the cable. he lent his twitch to a friend and got it back with a different cable. he´ll get a new and will let me knwo, if it was the case.
