And how do I embed youtube?

mmm…i find it laggy.
Not enough control really…but killer concept!

One of the DJ apps for iPhone have this build in…where is where i tried it.

Wasn’t this in another thread earlier this week?

I did a search on the forum for “MOPHO DJ” and I didnt get any hits.

Mopho Dj?!!

This is nuts!

Pretty cool, but the latency’s going to be outrageous to start out with. Might be able to get away with playing music, but not any kind of scratching or juggling for sure.

Says who? you haven’t even seen the product in person yet or done any latency testing. Let them at least get it out of testing stages before you start trashing it haha

what I see as potential here is the concept. If they could make a record that had the accelerometer built in somehow and balanced it out so there wasnt the huge weight of the ipods. Even thought the screen displaying the waveform is cool to see I don’t think its critical.

Why not link the video also…
This is pretty dirty.

maybe you should read photojojo’s comment properly before you claim he’s trashing it.

he says that the “latency will be outrageous to start off with” - obviously meaning while they’re testing it.

i dont see that as trashing it!

I personally think the latency is going to be to bad for scratching no matter what. He said the latency for the wireless connection is about 5ms. Then there’s however long it takes the gyroscope to interpret the motion and convert it to digital signal + the laptop has to handle that data etc. But hey I could be wrong!

How exactly are you supposed to measure the latency introduced by a phone’s gyroscope? I can’t think of a decent test at all.

How accurate are gyroscopes? I’d love to see some comparisons.

yeah no way 2 bluetooth devices connected to 1 laptop bluetooth reciever isnt going to introduce a shitload of latency. i honestly wonder if wifi wouldnt be faster.

that said, we all know how unreliable wifi controllers can be during a gig. i imagine this is just as bad.

I’m not trashing his software, I’m more stating the fact that the technology he’s relying on to make it work introduces latency into a system. Couple that with whatever latency he has in his software and it will just increase the over all latency.

Can this thread be combined with the other thread already started about this?
