Using a Foot Switch to trigger “Record” on the S4

Just curious, if I want to use a foot switch to trigger the loop record function on the S4 is there a certain kind of foot switch that is needed? Or will any phono style 1/4 inch foot pedal work? I am new this idea.
I work in a tattoo shop so we have foot pedals all over. But I am not sure if they are the same as what’s needed.
Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Ps…How do you turn on Traktors Internal Record mode for recording sets etc . . . or is it better to daisy chain to my second laptop with Ableton to record?

I’ve tried to use the sustain pedal of my keyboard but it doesn’t work… :confused:

Try it and see.
I use the boss FS-5U it’s only about $40, or $30 with a GC coupon.

The record function is on the right of your screen by the Fx unit. Click the cassette icon

Thanks for the response. I’ll try the foot pedal here and see. If not I’ll look into the one you’ve suggested.
As for the record . . . I found it right after asking the question. I guess the advice my mother gave me for years about opening my eyes really does help. LOL
