Using ableton in live situations.

Hey guys, so I’m developing my ableton live template which includes 7 tracks, drums, bass, synth, keys etc etc. Each channel with its own loops which are fired through my launchpad. Each channel has its own effects, blah blah.

What I wanted to know is what should include in my master channel to make this punchier and louder. Maybe a mastering chain but what could yo reccomend me for this tipe of live situation?

If you say punch, I say compressor.
But I doubt applying a compressor to your master channel will sound great, and I suggest you place one on the drums. Also, you might want to add sidechain compression to your lead synths based on the kick drums.

DJTT made an article about compressors few month ago, you should read it if you don’t know how it works. Also, about adding sidechain compression on your lead synths based on the kick drum, I bet you can find nice tutorials on YouTube.

Again, these are my basic suggestions as a noob of production work and plugins, don’t take it as THE truth.

Thanks for the advice but I failed to explain it correctly.
All of my channels are the multitracks of different songs. So they are already processed, with sidechain, eqing and stuff. Its creating a track on the fly with pre recorded audio loops. So my main question is what should I do on the master channel to somehow automatically ‘master’ the track live, if that makes any sense LOL

Well that doesn’t make any sense for me, but hopefully someone else will be able to understand and reply.

problem solved, using the ableton rack Mastering Suite. Sounds pretty cool!
