Using just a Traktor Z2 and Laptop?

Hi,

My first post so please be gentle :smiley:

I was going to get a Traktor Z2 and some turntables soon. I can afford to get the mixer now and then the turntables next month when I get paid. I was just wondering if its worth me getting the mixer now, and more importantly if I will be able to get any use out of it without turntables or should I just wait until I can get the lot and just buy it all together?

Also will I need anything else apart from the mixer/decks? I already have a laptop and speakers, I was under the impression that the mixer comes with a sound card built in and timecode vinyls/cd’s

Yeah dude you have full transport control and obviously mixer control as well. I used to make full mixes with just laptop and the Z2. If you’re down with cue’ing up your tracks before hand and using sync, you can completely control all of Traktor and seamlessly mix with just the Z2. Also, it is Traktor certified so you won’t be needing any other soundcard. Enjoy!
