Using multi-channel dj sound card for home theater surround sound use?

I just got an Audio 2 DJ which has two separate stereo outputs. In Windows this appears as two separate audio devices: channel A, channel B.

I want to play movies and have surround sound through my Logitech 4.1 speakers. All the video software I’ve used (TotalMedia Theatre, PowerDVD, SMPlayer, VLC) only outputs to one audio device, which means I only get stereo sound. Is there anyway that I can route the front channels to one device (channel A) and rear channels to another (channel B)?

Perhaps I could create a virtual sound device that appears as a 4-channel device to the DVD player software and then routes the sound appropriately? I looked at Virtual Audio Cable and it seems like it would work except that the virtual audio devices it creates are only 2 channel.

You still only have 2 channels using the audio 2 i think so you will only ever get stereo out i would have thought. Don’t think you will have any way of running surround. You need at least 6 outs dont you for surround … 2 x fronts 2 x rears 1 x center and 1 x sub.

Well, it depends. My speaker system is only 4.1 and it accepts just two stereo inputs (one front, one rear).
