Building my own 4 ch controller, based on the Vestax VCI-100 and the
midi DIY controller UMC32..
The whole idea, is to make controlling even more simple and better function
overview..
I love my VCI-100 SE Arcade, no doubt. But everything is based on Vestax
placement with knobs and faders and from my point of view some useless buttons.. and all that squeezed together in a small size box, making my big
fingers touch everything else i’m not supposed to touch
And worst of all, i have to concentrate on the buttons, when it needs to go fast.. and sometimes missing the right cue or loop..
So i tought, i make a controller on my on own, based on based on the VCI-100 and UMC32, and the functions from DJTT..
I have already made the layout.. it´s 19" wide and 31 cm high..
Make yourself free to comment.. can allways use more inputs from other djs..
The plan is to give you all in here, all the details, the layout-file, where i bought all the parts, pictures.. ALL.. all along the work flow..
Right now i have most of the parts, the square holes, is supposed to be the
pushbuttons, but i got some crappy ones. So are just waiting for some new
button samples (with LED), so i can choose the right ones..
I will update in here, when i got more news to tell..
I will still use the VCI-100 to jog, faders, button, LED, knobs..
The UMC32 will be used to the last 12 potmeters, i need to complete my layout..
I will turn them on/off directly on the screen, when needed.
It works on my VCI-100 SE, with one button. It automaticly loops 8 beats, when pressed, and the loop-length be adjusted with the Loop-size knob.
Using the button LED functions from VCI-100, but with new plate-mounted buttons, with build-in LED. Still searching for the perfect ones..
Everything is taken from the VCI-100 and placed in the new frontplate.
So i have a whole lot of soldering to do, when wiring every button and LED..

I like the idea of a rotary pitch control [/QUOTE]
Hope i will to, but i have to live with it
I have 2 Pioneer CDJ-400, and they will be connected via HID, and controlled with Deck C and D..
In the upperleft corner, i have 2 buttons called Input Deck C and D, and will be used to
switch between Internal use and Audio through, so i still will be able to play a CD, and still have the filter and EQ in Traktor playing audio..
Should proberly add 2 buttons to switch the whole EFX section.. ex EFX on Deck A to Deck C, when pressed.. Hmm..
The same reason why people are building custom rides and Hotrod cars..
Because we can..
We all have our different ways when djing, yes i could buy a Xone and map the hell out of it.. But it will still have that “new car” smell all over it, and no personality..
Here i can build a controller that fits my needs and on my demands..
And i have something no one else have..
