VCI-100 In a club?

Hey guys so i am wondering if my VCI-100 can hold up in a club. I know that mk3’s and technics are usually used but I wanted to see if it would work. I have an audio 4 soundcard with traktor pro. Also I noticed that when playing gigs with 1125w speakers the jog wheels turned the pitch by themselves, and that was at a hall party, yet alone a club.

you need to put some padding under the vci-100. we have several post on here. Look around and you will find some.,

another reason for me to find jog wheels useless, but that’s entirely my own opinion. if that’s a problem you can try tweeking your mapping so that the jog wheels only bend tempo when you apply a modifier, letting you do all the controlling of the pitch, and not random movement of the controller by other circumstances.

Does the new mapping not address this? IE: when scratch is off , the pitch bend only works via touch platter and not the outter ring ?

I dont think I have the new mapping, how can I get it?

yep.

@EsJay it’s in a sticky on the VCI subforum (technically where this thread should have been posted )

There’s a new tweaked version for TP2.

But has he got a VCI-SE?

If not, once the song is cued, you can always press both scratch buttons at the same time to disengage the jogs…

Pretty sure that works on both SE and Regular VCI’s…

when a track is playing and scratch mode is disabled, you have to be touching the jogwheel for it to do anything.

So yeh, what he said.

There was a DJ called Cristal Arcade who killed it at a local raver with a VCI-100SE. I nearly shat myself when I saw her using that, there was some DJTT brolove, for sure.
I’d say yes.

Yeah I have heard of people workin it. I really want to try one in one of my sets along with like an 8 by 8 monome or midi fighter..

What kind of padding do you think i should have under it? and I cannot turn the scratch off, does anyone know how to?

2 buttons labeled ‘scratch’. If you don’t have the DJTT overlay I don’t know what they were originally labeled as, but the VCI product page in the store has the layout of the overlay.

I looked all over for it and couldnt find anything on it, I tried going on traktor and looking for it in preferences and couldnt find it. Could it be Vinyl mode or?

this showed me the overlay that I do not have, in replace of the key button theres the scratch:confused:

so have you tried pressing it? are you using the DJTT mapping?

Update ur mapping and many try cleaning ur jog wheeles.

nope not using the DJTT mapping, and the Key does nothing related with scratch. I can try cleaning my jog wheels but dont know if i want to update my mapping  I dont know if its worth it

well if you’re not using the DJTT mapping there’s nothing we can do to help, since we have no way of knowing where in your mapping there’s a scratch control if anywhere. And when you say worth it, it’s free, so what’s the harm?

Its the original mapping that the vci-100 comes with, and it might not be worth it because it would take me a while to get used to it
