VCI-100 or Novation Twitch?!

i have the opportunity to get a novation twitch for $300 or i can get a vci-100 for $230 (mint and silver with 1.4 firmware) but ill still have to get an overlay $30 and the arcade button mod $50

so essentially they are pretty much the same price!

i have read either or and i hear complaints about both.

the VCI is the tried tru and tested piece of hardware but its coming to the end of its days.

now the twitch is fresh but i hear some complaints about the audio volume being low… but i have a mixer for my turntables so thats not a problem.

what do you guys think?

Twitch. The VCI is fantastic, but twitch comes with ITCH and a built in sound card.

wow uve owned both of them?!?!

regardless of the soundcard how do you like the novation twitch vs the vci100. is it that much more steller?

how are the touch strips. i read reviews but i never actually met anyone who had one.

consider the choice of program too. the twitch can be mapped to traktor afaik, but the cool features are in itch..

Yeh, still do though I’m looking to sell the VCI. All the controls on the twitch are great, though the DJTT mapping for the VCI makes it very good competition.

I use it with ITCH at the moment. There is ENORMOUS potential for an excellent Traktor mapping over and above what Novation have provided, but I haven’t had time to work on one and none have yet appeared online. The twitch is overall a more advanced controller.

hahaha its a private deal i have. its obviously used but in perfect condition :smiley:

ya i think ill finalize the deal and get the novation twitch. worst comes to worst if i dont like it ill sell it for a lil extra $$$ on the side becuase im sure its worth more than 300 when its 450 new

i voted for the vci since it is build like a tank. makes it a bit heavy but indestructible.
and also i need jogs that the twitch doesn´t have.

what exactly do you need the job wheel for?

fader/jog fx´s , scratching, pitching, scanning through songs. i don´t know, im kinda used to them and they are verry well incorporated in my workflow.

Still own both and Twitch hands down. I have a not quite finished custom mapping I use in Traktor and Itch is also great. To the person who mentioned no filter it isnt hard to remap. I have the endless encoder set up for my filter with shift option for gain on same encoder.

All I said was there isn’t a dedicated filter “knob” which I agree isn’t that big of a deal. Again.
I only own VCI-100 so I can’t really say too much for the twitch. However I do enjoy my VCI-100 a lot.

I really like the twitch. I’m planning on incorporating one into my DVS setup.

But if this is going to be your first controller I think maybe you would enjoy a more standard workflow with the vci 100.

i bought the twitch :smiley: it comes in the mail in a couple days!!! ya if i dont like it ill just return it no biggy. ive been djing for 5 years so i doubt the twitch will be scary
