VCI 100 replacing pitch controller
Hello I am looking to by a used VCI-100 but the pitch controller is damaged.
Now I am wondering if it is possible and how easy it is to replace it.
And what will be the costs.
I was also wondering if you could fit a longer one? a la vci 300 londer pitch with new firmware would be sweet?
Ive just had this done. The pitch fader is attached to the main board in the unit so it has to be completely dismantled.
Luckily i managed to get a friend at work to do the soldering as i couldn’t find any shops that would do it for me now that we live in a throw it away and buy a new one culture!
Anyway the pitch fader was bought from vestax for £9.99 and the soldering was done for free.
I didn’t want to attempt to solder myself as it looks very delicate and easy to screw the whole board up.
Sorry i couldn’t be of more help but i thought even this little information would be helpful as when i searched there doesn’t seem to be many people who have gone through the same problem.
So you bought a pitch fader for a 100 or 300?
If you fit a longer ones: how esay is it to make the cuts in the surface of the controller.
And does the connection points of the PCB fit the longer ones?
Of topic: Is the store displaying the current layout of the VCI-100SE?
I like to know this for my decision in purchasing the second VCI 100 SE
100
I doubt you could fit a 300 one unless all 5 pins are in exactly the same place, as they have to slot into holes on the circuit board.
It seems that the damages is the touch sensor level (plus minus knob) on the back of the VCI 100 Is it hard to replace and what will be the cost?
Not sure about this. Where you from?
From the Netherlands
Anyone? I like to give the seller a answer today
You got your answer on replacing the pitch fader. It can be done and is fairly easy if you cab solder. As far as a 300 fader I doubt it will fit as well.
No, I had misunderstood the seller is not the fader itself but it seems that the damages is the touch sensor level (plus minus knob) on the back of the VCI 100.
But there is less hurry, it would be nice if I can give the seller a anwser today
Else I will contact the seller a other time
Sorry, missed that. That would require soldering as well and I’m not sure where you could get one at or how much it would cost. If the seller is offering a good deal I wouldn’t worry about it being broken as long as it’s set in a position that makes it comfortable for you to use.
Maybe I can look for someone who can soldering in my neighborhood.
But what parts do I need?
I would call Vestax, to see if they can give you a quote to fix it.
As long as the board isnt broken it should be fixable.
Or find a local shop that can carry out circuit board soldering to give you an idea of price.
I wouldnt pay much for the unit though. You have to ask yourself, if its easy to fix why doesnt the seller get it fixed and sell it fully working for more money.
