My buddies at UCSB run a popular clothing line, and in celebration of their new winter line, threw a massive party last weekend in Isla Vista, California.
I bring down my Macbook, VCI-100SE, and two Mackie PAs from San Francisco. They provide insane lights, 3 more Mackies, a Sonic Maximizer and a gigantic 18" self-powered JBL subwoofer.
We split set-times evenly between 4 DJs throughout the night. The first 3 (including myself) used my VCI and Traktor Pro. The closer, DJ Mackle, runs Serato Scratch with vinyl pads.
The cool thing we’re able to do is run a MIDI clock out of Traktor via my Firebox soundcard, into Serato Scratch (using a MIDI > USB cable). That way the music never needs to stop or be out of sync when switching between hardware and DJs.

Excellent party video, really caught the feel. Good marketing for the next event as well. You’re working it!
Next time, get some bigger speakers and to steal the 220v/30amp power from the washing machine. House party tip for you there, less chance of tripping the circuit.
It’s funny you say that. After the second trip, I took two PAs off their house completely, and “forcibly” entered the neighboring complex’s laundry room with a very long extension cable. The power grid is so poor in Isla Vista, stealing neighbor’s power is pretty commonplace. This was nothing compared to when the power went out 15 minutes before kickoff during last year’s Super Bowl, there were almost riots.
While I don’t know the exact model of the lights, they are RGB, LED light panels. I know that the 8 of them we hung from the tree all used about as much power as a vacuum cleaner.
Most of FOAMO’s tracks are on Beatport, but I’m not sure if that remix has been released anywhere officially yet.
