VCM-100 mapping?
Hi guys,
So I just got a VCM-100 and am waiting on my X1 arriving. I’m guessing that is going to be a couple more weeks and so in the meantime I’d like to get the most out of my VCM-100. Does anybody have a good mapping for Pro?

i assume you’re using the default map atm? why don’t you have a fiddle and change the tsi around a bit to get it how you want it
Yeah, you’re right, I was just being lazy.
To be honest, I just got the VCM-100 for line faders, eq etc. and intend to use my X1 for most things (the VCM-100 has a nice feel to it by the way). But who knows when NI will ship the X1’s…
Mapping the VCM-100 and the Kontrol X1
Are you going to try to use the VCM-100 and the X1 together simultaneously ? That was my idea. Use the VCM-100 for mixing and EQ and use the X1 for loops and effects. Sounds like a nice combo. Would that cause a MIDI mapping nightmare or is it easy to set up ???
That’s the plan and I think it won’t be a problem:
The VCM-100 was only $229 from Musicians Friend and is a big step-up from my previous controller (BCD3000). Good quality feel to the knobs and faders. Sound card seems ok. Overall I think it will be a great little set-up! Can’t wait for my X1 to get here!

Has anyone with a Vestax VCM-100 midi controller got all the lights on the buttons working properly with Traktor Pro?
My VCM-100 worked fine with Traktor DJ Studio 3. All the lights on the buttons operated fine as they turned from yellow to blue when pressed, but they don’t all do that with Traktor Pro. It seems that the second state (blue) has to be either on or off.
I’ve tried using the official VCM-100 .tsi file as well as tried my own custom settings, but still the lights don’t do what they should/used to. I’ve spent hours trying all the different settings from -1 - 127, invert, blend etc.. and still no luck. I think that the fact that the even the official VCM-100 .tsi doesnt get the lights working properly, means that they just wont work as they used to (in the previous version of Traktor which used .tks files).
Well if any one out there knows what the hell I’m going on about and can shed some er, light on this, then please do?

I thought the whole point of the vcm was that it already worked tip top with Traktor Pro out the box?

VCM and X1 sounds like a tidy little combo though

Yeah, at that price it is a steal. Mine is in the mail. It will hold me till the VCI 1200 MK2 (made up) or the “perfect controller” is released. I will report back on any mapping issues with Traktor PRO when the vcm 100 arrives. Cheers. TGIF !
@ harrisandreson: Hmmm…that’s strange. My VCM has all the lights working with TP 1.2.3. I used the Setup Wizard and everything worked (except for the little tempo buttons at the bottom of each pitch slider).
Everything worked straight out of the box for me (except the pitch bend buttons like djgee said).

Yes, just map them manually. There is nothing wrong with the buttons themselves, just the mapping is incorrect.
