Hey guys, I got a quick, simple question about the Vestax PMC 08 Pro Hybrid Digital mixer. This mixer comes stock with a CF-08 crossfader. Is this crossfader a non-contact/digital fader?
I know the CF-CC that Vestax released is a non-contact/digital fader, but I wasn’t sure if it fit and worked with the PMC 08 Pro. This makes me wonder if the stock fader, the CF-08, was in fact digital. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Well, even though the 08 is a digital mixer, it’s crossfader is unfortunately not. The CF-08 is actually the 4th version of the same fader found on all Vestax PMC mixers, i.e. a normal graphite based crossfader.
What you probably are looking for is the CF-X2, found on the PMC05 pro 4, which is compatible with that mixer only and the VCI series (because of MIDI sending functionality). That’s a pure digital crossfader, capable of controlling MIDI info.
You are incorrect. The PMC-08 does have a modified version of the CF-CC VCA controlled cross fader. The only difference is that the knobs are not directly on the fader itself. Instead, it was moved to the front of the mixer.
Lol thank for the response guys. so now you guys can see why I have this question. I’ve heard both sides of this story before, so I’m trying to figure out who is actually correct. anyone else got any insight?
btw… the cf-x2 is not compatible with the PMC 08 though, right?
