Vestax Spin Firmware

Does anybody have the Vestax spin firmware or know where I can download it?

What OS are you using? I know the Spin is sold as the Mac controller, but it is possible to use it with Windows.

I have the vestax typhoon but it doesn’t work with virtual Dj yet. The spin is supported so I wanted to know if I could install the spin firmware on the vestax typhoon.

Have you actually tried it with VDJ or is that what you read? I’m surprised by this.

Yes I have tried it with virtual DJ and it doesn’t work. As soon as you touch something on the controller some of the buttons light up and a few buttons on the left hand side work.

This is what atomix say regarding the mapping…

The Typhoon have a different sysexid respect the Spin,
The Vestax Typhoon support is being worked on by the manufacture. When they find that it is ready … then we will make it available for download.

Thanks, I understand now.

The bad news is that you have to wait for the Typhoon to have it’s sysexid in VDJ. Vestax just updated the Typhoon firmware, so I see why they are waiting…

What’s wrong with Traktor LE until they sort VDJ?

I can’t really get into Traktor after using Virtual Dj. I much prefer virtual Dj.

Also on Traktor the crossfader cut on the sharpest setting is not so sharp. It would have been nice if they made a instant cut on/off.

Has anyone tried the typhoon firmware on the vestax? They are pretty much identical?
