Video DJing setup

sup ya’ll from freezing-ass cold Chicago,

Ive been trying to figure out my set up for Video DJing and still not super stoked on any setup yet (Serato or VDJ) Im only interested in either of these programs for the Video Djing otherwise I’d be using Traktor.

Id love to control them with DJ techtools controllers and a Rane SL3?? on my mac.

Do you guys know if serato scratch live is midi mappable with the custom arcade vci-100???
-track playback control with jog wheel???
-effects & samples
-4deck control and/or deck control with MIDI FIghter and VCI-100 simultaneously???

Will SSL 2.0 be ???

I know the crossfader can be mapped but im not clear about cue points, effects, and jogwheel control?

Any info would really help out.

Personnally, I’m working with Traktor & Modul8 (here) on one laptop.
Or Traktor & Resolume Avenue (here) when I mix with tow laptop.
If your interested, I’m selling a Resolume Avenue Licence.

Traktor with a VCI 100 SE arcade of DJTT … a pleasure for audiovisual mix also… :slight_smile:

Only with VCI-100 se arcade (1.3 and 3.1.2 DJTT mapping) midi controller and an Xsession midi controller.
Resolume or Modul8 are midi controlled by traktor.
The only missing technology is the timecode control for looping, cue, juggle etc… but some tricks exist. :wink:

does anyone know if a serato plugin style thing for traktor is likely to appear?

You can work with MixEmergency (here), but there is no timecode synchro … :disappointed:
Nothing perfect exist for traktor about visual.

I’ve got MS pinky, but I was jumping into controlerism only …
I want to control A/V with my VCI 100 se DJTT.
Do you have some ideas for that? :wink:

thanks guys great info.

I finally went with Serato2.0beta + VideoScratch live, I use the house mixers or any usb mixer with 2 channels,

I set the serato to (internal) mode, then Mapped my cue points and loops to my midi fighter, works awesome!!!

nothing more fulfilling then being able to controllerize your own music video remixes.

sounds dope, i have my fingers crossed for serato implementing video control in Itch 2.0. lookin forward to the video.
