Virtual DJ 7

Virtual DJ 7

Out now, just curious as to what peoples reactions are?

everyone can now try for themselves, there is a free version for non-commercial use. take that crackusers

I´m stuck to VDJ7 for hours, so many cool new stuff. It even has rewire !!!

whats the difference between the versions?

i think i may give it a try, it has support for the numark v7. i like the prospect of rewire support.

mm v7 plus rewire into ableton…

gonna get it!

I also noticed that the MAC version now finally plays FLAC files.

wow, i wonder how well the S4 would work with this! rewire sounds awesome! I wish it had the sample feature like the new traktor, although the 99 different decks could work too

downloading the home version now lol

nvm, it does have a decent sampler. but from the little i played with it, it doesnt have hardly any effects, the “beat grid” is kinda cool but nothing the beatmasher cant do with a little practice. and i finally understand what the whole hype is about having the waveforms on top of each other, and side by side for scratching. but if you sync most of your songs and have a good beatgrid on traktor, idk why i would care enough to switch to vdj. personally i like the browser on traktor too

end results for me…still gonna stick with traktor

the first VDJ version I’ll probably give a serious go.

You can download more additional effects from the website.

but only as a registered pro user i´m afraid. But let me tell you this, we do have some very decent effects now

The free home version supports controller and timecode support for 10 minutes, so everyone can try it.

I think it now has the same sampler capabilities as S4, its just laid out different. I´ll try to demo it in a while, first i have to get rewire done. Btw, its Ableton into VDJ, not vice versa

That’s possible. I was too lazy to log out to check what’s avaliable for everybody and what not

I m testing the v7Pro..
the + :
1/the mapping for ns7 is more accurate thatn the V6.7
2/I have a nano pad to control the effect and sampler area and it was disconnecting all the time.since the V7, no more problem and the learning keys are faster
3/it appears so far much quicker than before to load up the tracks
4/you can add till..99 decks ..not sure it 's worth it but 4 can be a sweet deal
5/there’s a new filter for each deck
6/the search engine is really relly really (I mean it) faster than before
7/key lock

I need to test the id tag which I heard is better as well..

the big minus for me at the moment is a problem of preview :
When I load a second track while I listen with my headphones the first track, it stops playing and you have to play with the cross fader of the headphones to put it back.
Same thing happens when I start to play the second track : the first track stops in my headphones and I have to push back the cross fader..Nothing super major but ‘annoying’
I need to dig a little bit deeper to see there 's a way to play around this bug..

VirtualDJ - VirtualDJ Remote pretty stoked to try this lol

if you like Ipad and ready to spend an extra $500..That makes the remote a little bit expensive :s

Tried it real quick with my external mixer + audio 8 +traktor timecode setup.
It’s too bad you have to manually change the timecode type when switching sides, but I thought it worked really well. Extra points for the detailed scope tuning and being able to invert sides when it decides to play backwards. Slight thumbs down for having to dig through 3/4 layers of menus to get to that tuning though.
Sound quality when spinning really, really slowly became too synthetic imo, in all three timecode modes
Liked the stacked waveforms and the overall upper part of the ui (decks). Didn’t like the browser so much.

Couldn’t be bothered testing video mixing.

Good impressions but sticking to TSP

does anybody know how long u can use the tiemcode option in the home edition?

i already have an ipad…
