What are djs looking for?

Hey guys,

So I was here studying the market and… what are djs looking for that doesn’t exist? A software that does what? A controller that does what?

Personally I’d like something like an iPad or windows surface or something that has three USB ports and an ethernet port. All I wants is a screen with touch control capable of running traktor/ rekord box. What it’d love it for it to be mountable to a standard height mixer. I’m playing in clubs and dont want to take my laptop to the club with me cause it’s my studio/ my fulltime job/ my tool for fun. Just a cheapish touch screen computer capable of handling traktor that has some USB connectivity and an ethernet cable. Minimum 256Gb SSD, rugged, and idiot proof.

I want the functions & feel of my cdj + mixer setup with something that takes half the space. Perhaps even portable.
I want rekordbox to work properly.

My first wish is not really do-able so i guess i just would be really happy if rekordbox would be solid and evolved.

pretty neat ideas :slight_smile: i’m kind of anti touchscreen although.

for me the most awesome thing would be a raspberry pi on steroids so you can run traktor on it, ad a little screen and maybe integrate the whole thing in a flightcase. or what wongaling said, a tablet capable of running traktor(though that’d most definetly be very expensive).

stijn a lot of steroids ehehe. one day that will be possible but for now… not really that easy to make eheeh

I think what we want exists. It is just very expensive.
