What cdjs did you learn on?

What cdjs did you learn on?

Just wondering what cdjs you guys learnt on?

Started on this … (yes it has pitch control)

Then one of these:

To one of these:

Last ones I used were these:

Stepped away from stuff for almost 10 years and went completely digital, still use CDJ’s though every so often though if they are installed.

I’ve still got the Synergy Slipmats that I got with my first set of decks (Limit 1000SQ).

They are the greatest slipmats I’ve ever used - and I have searched high and low for another pair!!!

I don’t think I have ever touched a CDJ.

Never touched a cdj either they are way too expensive for me, I am looking too buy some rmp-3’s in the future though.

Those Denons. many a late night with those. Then moved to the CDJ-100S.

they called them record players in my day… and the cd’s were huge… 12" to be exact

Cmx-3000 > cdj-800

Shitty American Audio Console Mixer … we have CDJ800s now

CDJ-100S. then had a looong break from it, used atomix software to make home mixes

CDJ 800s were the first pair I touched years ago

Then I managed to get a pair from a buddy and that’s what I use at home now.

I was one of the first guys in Cape Town to get a pair of CDJ100S.

I came from vinyl before that, so was not a heavy learning curve at all.

I actually learned on cdj100s as well but

Damn…I remember the excitement!

They were STATE of the ART at the time.

I know there were versions before the 100S, but not as sexy and reliable.

A pair of these bad boys - circa 1988:

and super happy with the choice i was, solid little things.

My experience is similar to deevey’s. I first used CD’s on a Denon DN-2000F in 1997 and I got a (single) CDJ-500 to use at home not long after that. I got my sc3900’s in 2012/13 but hadn’t actually bought any CDJ’s for my home rig since that CDJ-500. I’ve used CDJ-1000’s and 850’s on occasion when gigging but to be honest I usually clear existing kit out of the way and set my own stuff up.

Interesting hearing all your starters! Some very old gear shows how much change there as been.

DN-2000F, Pio CDJ100’s, 1st Dj CD players I ever used.

I went from these.

to these.

Now I have 2 of these.
