What do you look for in…headphones
Hello everyone on Djtechtools, I was wondering,
what do you guys look for in DJ headphones?
what is the true difference between headphones that cost 50 bucks, and headphones that cost 250?
I have Sennheiser HD 205’s that cost me around 40 dollars/50, would you upgrade to some other headphones? (headphones that would be used in a club environment, not just bedroom)
Isolation,
Robustness,
Sound Reproduction that I like
+1
Save for decent cans if you are planing to gig
what headphones are you using?
Sennheiser HD25 II - had 'em two years, used daily, not broken them (yet) - job’s a good’un
Pretty much just Durability.
Technics RP-DH1200
I agree with him as well. The sound reproduction is a huge part of it for me. I use HDJ 2000s for DJing, and AKG K702s for production. I think it’s definitely worth saving up for a good pair of cans.
sound isolation, size and durability are important in my book.
how much better is the sound quality in like hdj-1000 to these 40 dollar sennhesiers? anyone know?
No idea
But I use to have sennhesier HD 25’s and personally I found them hard to hear when mixing in a club environment
Now I’ve got a pair of Audio Technica ATH-PRO700’s which I’ve had for
four or so years without any problems and are loud as…
Same here. I like headphones where I can hear everything and it’s balanced, unlike headphones like Beats that are heavy on the bass and that causes them to muddle everything else. I use HDJ-2000s and they’re fantastic.
I like copious amounts of bass in my headphones. I’ll probably get made fun of for this, but I use V-MODA Crossfade LP’s.
Haha at least you’ve accepted it. But headphones are all about personal preference, like every other bit of gear you can buy
One can use any headphones they want to as long as you understand how what you hear in your headphones translates to the dance floor. It’s just a much easier process with headphones that give you a flat/transparent response.
i use hd25s I like them, they have good isolation. I look for isolation, sound quality, and durability.
HDJ 2ks ain’t precisely balanced. Sure they are better than a pair of Beats but still.

Not flaming, I own them
for me they must be:
lightweight because i regularly play for 4 hours + at a time
good at isolation
excellent for accurate sound
so basically the sennheiser hd25’s…
you serious? are they cheap knock offs from ebay or the real thing? ive had mine for 6 years, had the hd25-sp’s for 2 years before that and i have never had any issues with them
