Whaaataaaaaat. #mindblown #tryingwhenigethome
I had to google it.
Stopping drunk people knocking the mix out when they fuck with the jogwheels going ‘‘Heeeey Wika wika im a DJ’’ when i turn my head for one second!
Best reason yet
Lol!
This happened to me once when I get a reached into the booth and touched the platter on one of our decks…security escorted his ass out quick status…
when they do that punch them in the face and say “hey doof doof i’m a boxer!”
To be better than I was in 1985 with a whole lot less effort. That’s not just sync, but DJ software in general.
It was sync when traktor became pro version. Traktor 3 was beatmatching.
I’m guessing this means you beatmatched when it was 3 and started using sync when Pro came out…cause I was a lil confused. To anyone thats concerned, sync was alive and well in 3
Honestly I think it wasn’t the best. I couldn’t grid all my tracks perfectly in sync and needed to bend a little in a while to keep them in beat. Pro fixed it.
For me using sync gives me more freedom to use effects, loops and samples without really stressing with time constraints and having beat matching issues with the main track/s. I guess for me it just free’s up more creative time!
Someones got to have a good mix they can breakdown for us on using sync with multiple decks/layers/loops.
All of the above. And regarding point 3: Yes, exactly. As someone who learned on 1200s, when the only option was to learn to beatmatch and then babysit it for those long mixes.. The stuff we can do with sync now is just mind-boggling in comparison.
I’ve been doing quite a bit 4 deck mash-ups where A & B are down-tempo instrumentals and C & D are 4band/XOne EQ made Hip-Hop acapella. I’ll Sync A & C to adjust both decks tempo simultaneously to then manually launch the next instrumental waiting in Deck B with or w/o sync, sometimes immediately into the next acapella in D w or w/o sync.
I’d say the most useful reason to use sync is for looping and beat synced effects like delay. Maybe helping you drop a track at exactly the right time as well with quantized cues and loops.
Instead of wasting time beat matching I can go ahead and transition a new track, use all 4 channels, make sudden drops a lot easier, allows me to take time to pick the perfect track to play since song selection is everything
+1. Some real world examples would be great.
It appears most of you are missing something it’s not just sync it’s quantize that helps you lots. Turn off quant and just use sync bet you miss your drops lots… Reason is quant along with sync allows you to drops right… I enjoy traktor for quant like really quant is what you really are taking advantage of. Sync is only partially useful:..
You can layer tracks and cue jump without sync as long as quants on. Turn off quant and try it then try sync without quant. Snaps a really useful tool if you have the patience a to manipulate it lots.
Check out this video, about seven minutes in. It’s a tutorial in harmonic mixing, but Endo uses sync, quantize, keylock, etc in it to great effect, and is pretty great just generally. It sounds good to my ears.
Yeah, right. I bet not. I’m glad you like it though!
Sweet! Which of your mixes are like this? I’d like to hear some.
I’m sure we’re all aware of what the pros can do, but I was looking for something more relevant to the topic title.
