what is art show music?

I am going to be playing a gig from 9-11 for an art show but I have no idea, I was thinking about going in there and throwing down some deep house and then moving it into electro house ( he said he wanted a dance party at the end) but i don’t really know what they would want.

    Used a blend of this for a gallery opening - was deep, dark & sleazy - then eased into deep/tech house. Worked a treat.

I’ve done numerous “art show” gala’s in my time. Usually the planner will like upbeat stuff that is not too “hard” usually without much vocal. I tend to use a lot of buddah bar type music that seems to cater to the all ages type crowd. Google “cafe del mar” as a good starting point IMO. Good luck. My advice, remember…this isnt an electro-house party…people still have to chat and interact while the music is playing. lol

IDM Glitch Down-tempo can be extremely engaging, and provide a really pleasurable sound scape, with ought being to overbearing…
