keep an eye out for 2nd had serato SL-1/2/3 box. no serial # drama, free updates and is plug and play. And this is coming from a long time traktor owner.

i would also say get a serato box. I use traktor as well and its just easy as hell to use. You can get the whole shebang used pretty easily off CL for like 250 or less.

I bought my A6 setup brand new for $240 shipped off ebay from this seller. FYI at the time it was listed for less than it is now. So he may not accept that low now? But worth a try.

you can get a used SL1 for $300, probably less, i get them in the UK for £200.

For turntables look at used technics 1200/1210mk2’s, can get a set for a few hundred $,
Needles, shure m447 reccommended,
slipmats, butter rugs for scratching, nice thick ones for just mixing.
and any mixer will do, but vestax do very reliable cheap scratch mixers

Serato you dont have to mess about with calibration, its free software updates for life, and all the reasons JesC gave.

I recently got my DVS set up for around $900 which isn’t too bad for a 1st time DVS system IMO. Did a lot of craigslist prowling to score most of the equipment. Besides the exterior scratches on the DJM it works perfectly fine. Bought a black skin for it from 12inchskins.com and now it looks brand new.

won’t i need a traktor interface then? the 3000 isn’t traktor certified
