what laptop should i use!!???

what laptop r u using!!? what’s the best one yhat i can get for midi controllers!! i have a toshiba satellite,2G core2duo, 4G ram, 17" monitor… should i change it???

you have a beast of a machine. If you dont want it can donate it to the DJ JesC, “Save a Laptop Foundation”

Your laptop is perfectly fine  Welcome to DJTT !

ya thats a great laptop your better off keeping it

No laptop, sometimes I use my work’s laptop, but that’s just an old Dell Latitude D620.

I went with the ever so cliche macbook…

…and I’ve never been happier with it.

Glossbook Pro son! Haven’t had any issues. Vista can S my D.

If you’re playing house or Drum & Bass stick with the Toshiba

If you’re playing minimal or trance get a Mac

If you’re playing hip-hop get an Emachine LOL

Your laptop is too nice for MIDI, the interpolation will glitch and you’ll latency out the packet syn/ack. Even worse the packet scheduler will QoS inside of each MIDI announce and crash the cc signal to noise ratio.

If those words are scary, then send me your laptop, and I’ll send you an appropriate replacement.

i didn’t want to start a new thread as my question is similar…
would a Samsung NC10 (Intel Atom N270 Processor) be sufficient to run Traktor Pro without any glitches?
it’ll probably be upgraded to have 2 gig of RAM although i think it’s FSB is 533.

anyone use this netbook or have a similar spec’d system?

eeek…I really wouldn’t recommend relying on a netbook processor, especially when you’re talking about incorporating effects or more than 2 decks.

you will hate yourself for trying to use a netbook for Traktor Pro

yeh i’ve a core2 duo with 2 gigs currently, just toying with the idea of getting a smaller computer.
well, maybe i’ll borrow one and check it out for myself…

Those are the absolute minimum system requirements for Traktor Pro. There is no WAY an Atom is equivilant to a Yonah

Theres a guy on the NI forums thats posted a pretty lenghty thread re usinga netbook with traktor.

If i remember right he said it worked pretty damn well but the screen size was an issue. Not sure which netbook it was though.

I’m just a messenger please dont shoot me!

Hi

I have an i5 to 2.3 freq, 12 gb ram, video card integrated and dedicated 2gb, SSD. My S8 is working fine but i have an issue and maybe somebody can help me or suggest me to do something: when i am mixing in 4 channels with more than 5 effects on, i can hear some noise(jamming) in my headphones even if i am touching or not knobs or pads. I think its happening when the system is accelerated ( but my laptop is working normally, i didnt hear the hardware acceleration ). Can someone tell me what can be the issue? My laptop or my controller ?
Thanks

i use the razer blade stealth with linux as my main OS running Mixxx and for gigs i have a partition with windows for serato

You would get better results running a vm.

I run Mint with a windows vm (without a shell) inside a VM for Traktor, Serato, and Rekordbox.
