Hi, just asking myself ,what midi controller is the most popular among all new and experienced djs?. Just post the name of your main midi controller(s) you use and then I will sum up the results and make a graphic or something.
I started with a Vestax VCM-100 due to being a rotary house nut. I learned on a vintage Urei 1620! After that I moved into 2 KX1s with a vinyl system (TPS) cause pressing buttons bored me. After lugging too much gear around to certain gigs with a bad back I then upgraded to a S4 for the all in one portable controller (for sale now, very little use on it). I am now moving back to pressing buttons with a VCM-600. I would say so far the KX1s have been the best for connecting to house systems, the S4 has been awesome for plug and play anywhere, VCM-600 (waiting to test). The VCM-100 was a fun little toy to start learning the digital systems, I was a old school vinyl house head so it was a rough transition.
I use a Launchpad, Numark Stealth Control, nanoKontrol and M-Audio KeyStudio 25. (Will probably get rid of the Stealth Control and nanoKontrol for BCR/BFC 2000 combo, heard quite good things about them, though I’m suspicious to Behringer, but oh well, it’s cheap so).
full list in my sig, but the one i seem to use the most is just a launchpad with one of lpd8/idj/djm101/scs.3d when i want to play more normally with some faders/pots
