What program do i need for guitar hero?

Hi all..

I was so impressed by the guitar hero show, that i had to get one my self. So now I have it, and i have been trying to get it to work with traktor for a week now, and without any luck.

So now i turn to you guys: what program do I need?

I will be using it for a mac, and i have the xbox guitar here controller.

So please can any one help me?

I have found a program: camepad companion. This program kan turn any tap on the guitars buttons into keystrokes on the keyboard. and the You just have to map the key inside traktor, and then you are set.

Didnt have time to do that tutorial today but I will have it up by next friday. Every Friday is supposed to be DIY day :slight_smile:

Ean can you tell us what HID to midi program you used so we can play around with it a little before the tutorial goes up.

I’ve tried this with the PS3 Guitar on XP and it works great. Just plug in the USB-dongle (included when you buy the guitar) and the pc will recognize it as a joystick. Install Rejoice (don’t forget to reboot). Rejoice will help you convert to midi signals. Install Midi Yoke and choose for example Midi Yoke 1 as midi out in Rejoice and then Midi Yoke 1 as midi in in Traktor.

the one I use is VERY simple. its for OSX only though.

GamePad Companion is the one I was using on that demo.

Another question and then i’ll buy mine Guitar Hero for our last big party in June.

Do i need a special adaptor for PS2 ↔ USB?
I have checked out a few and some say it possibily won’t work with wireless controllers.

I did this and it does work, thanks!

Problem I have is with the settings for “controller change”, “note on”, “note off”, “toggle” and “wrap”.

Sorry, but I am new to this. Anyone have a link that explains these?
