I have a feeling most of us got into DJing/Controlling/composing/producing because we all love music. That being said, I thought it would be cool to post up a thread about upcoming shows we are going to see? I have a huge love for a pretty broad genera of music. So far for me:

Black Madonna’s coming at the end of February. My coffee shop barista is part of the DJ crew bringing her into town. We always talk music/synth/drum machines when I get coffees. Should be a great show.
Just saw in one of my local regular sandwhich joints that Snap is coming Jan 31st I think.
Rhythm Is a Dancer yo! Not to mention I’ve Got the Power. And I as well have the power not to attend this show.
And they’re playing a venue I wasn’t even aware had live music or decent DJs. Kinda reminds me of hearing Quiet Riot was coming to Milwaukee in the 90’s and playing a crappy bowling alley.
Do you guys really plan that far ahead? I usually just wait for the weekend and then go to the party that sounds the most promising. But I’ll very likely head up to Berlin the end of February to see Pender Street Steppers and Hashman Deejay at Stattbad (the rest of the lineup is great as well, actually). Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter from Mister Saturday Night are playing Panorama Bar that same weekend, so if the timetable fits (i.e., they play like sunday afternoon) I’ll go and catch them as well.
But on a different note: I really dislike the term “show” in the context of house and techno. It’s a concept that might be fitting for other genres of music (though even there, “concert” is probably the better term), but it certainly isn’t for house and techno. It places way too much emphasis on the people on stage while the emphasis should be on the music and the party as a whole.
Yeah I was shocked to see it lol. We planned a little dinner date it’ll be nice to put a face to the name.
Eh, a friend of mine runs a promo company for one of my favorite clubs here so I always know who’s coming. It literally caters directly to my taste so I never have to search for shows, they just fall into my lap.
