What was this guy using??

Hey all. New user here, I’ve learned a ton from your forum and look forward to getting to know you all more. I have a question, and I thought you might be the ones to ask.

Last year I was chilling at a hookah lounge, and a guy was sitting in the banging out beats on a piece of equipment. I talked to him a bit and he let me use his instrument for a little while. It had a library of sounds, and I believe 16 pads, and it could sequence and save music. I was looking back on it, trying to find info online, but for the life of me I cannot remember of the name or find it online. I thought I had found it, when I came across Maschine, as the look and function are similar. I realized, however, that It could not be, because he was not hooked up to a laptop. It was a stand alone instrument hooked straight into the wall. Do any of you have any clues to what it would be?

Thanks

Yeah - sounds like an MPC to me (500/1000/2000?)…

Interesting, thanks guys. I’m almost certain it was not an MPC, I was actually pretty familiar with those at the time, and would have remembered. I’m wondering if it was just a Maschine, and he had a little netbook I just didnt notice.

It could be.

Would have been better if you’d taken a picture with your phone.

I thought of the Trigger finger , but then re-read your post.. guess this is not it ?
