What’s the Best Vinyl Record Crate?
What vinyl record crate do you use/recommend?
Square or rectangle long type?
I need to buy some new ones.
Thanks.

Milk Crates lol.
Why lol?
Milk crates were MADE for 12" records. It’s the only thing I’ve ever used (besides a box bag - y’know - backintheday)
Another option - if you can get it, is a US Postal Service crate. Bit longer, so you can get more records in there. Downside is, it’s heavier than a milk crate. ![]()
I actually bought these mesh bathroom crates from Bed Bath & Beyond years ago. They were the perfect dimensions and strong enough to pick up. Not sure if they still sell them, but i’m sure they’re out there somewhere on the internet.
I’m stalking shopping mall back alleys.
1 TB Flash Drive…
I bought one of these over a decade ago and might pick up another, half split is a must for the digging room…

I have always been a fan of Odyssey cases. Ive had the same Odyssey bag for 14 years and it doesnt even have a tear in it. Ive had an odyssey case for the same amount of time. It was dropped off of the stage at Moefest in 2013 (25 foot drop) with 80 records in it then tumbled down hill. Latch remained closed. No damage to the case besides a couple scratches and scoffs. My rolling case was filled with 120 records. My mate left it sitting on the sidewalk facing downhill. He turned around and it was rolling downhill. Made it a block before tumbling into the street and tumbling all the way down vine street in Cincinnati before it came to a stop being hit by an f150. The wheel itself cracked, the carpet was torn, but the case was structurely sound and not one record was damaged.
pics or it didnt happen
I didn’t really specify but I was looking for a crate for the home. Milk crates are adequate for taking to a vinyl gig but I’m looking for panty dropper crates.
Ah. Build your own or use Idea.
You can get UV LEd lighting, use a dremel, and recess it into the crates to. Looks sweet!
I like these:

The advanced ones with the cutaway front - perfect ![]()
I have mixed odyssey and eurolite cases. Given the choice, I like the split eurolite cases because when I spin, I can have a place to put records after I played them. That way I don’t waste time looking through records I already played or even worse replay the same record twice.
What can I say…I have a bad memory.
