what’s the deal with all the new spammers?

is there a reason why at least one new spammer is getting through and posting the same exact spam messages about bogus blackberry phones everyday? Just wonder why its been so much lately…:disappointed:

+1
noticed it too:rage:

They arnt bots, they are people posting which makes it very hard to setup a system to avoid them :disappointed:

i was guessing that was what was happening, is there a country of origin for these sign ups or is it all around the world?

Yea, i assumed they aren’t bots. These dudes are ruthless… I mean, i dunno what can be done. These guys are outta control. Is the same crap every time too. maybe limit new users to only replying to threads until they have a certain number of posts. Are new users required to introduce themselves first in the introductions thread?

Just curious to how these guys can possibly be cut at the throat… i mean do people actually fall for these guys’ spam crap?

a german dj-forum requires that you make a certain number of posts before you’re allowed to start your own threads.

[/quote]Well, you are spamming your music here, what’s the difference?

What a stupid thing to say. Hes not spamming hes proudly telling us, the djtts community about his music. This is a DJ/Music forum.

Nothing like trying to rip people off by supposedly selling phones.

I hope i missed some kinda whacky irony in that post.

Haha dude you put a smile on my face (no offence Lance! not at all)! Where’s the karma system..

i’ve also seen the bogus prices on dj sets like 2 pioneer cdj 2000’s + djm 800 for $1500 and theres normally a huge list…

Manual approval of new members is the only way. Check the IP numbers and google email addresses. The email addresses are usually a giveaway and will turn up first on spam lists.

Yeah or a minimum number of posts before opening a topic. Sounds like a solid solution.

I believe the difference is I am tellig people about my music in a music forum. Also i am pretty active on this board, I am not just lurking here sucking up info and then asking people to buy my music. I simply show my music, and when my stuff is charting i make a comment to let people know. If people like that music I ask them to support it!

I would like to express my sadness for you and your family. I am aware its hard for you to decipher between regular posters and spammers. I am very worried though that you could mistake you family for burglars if they ask you for something when they walk in the house. I just hope you can get the help you need so you can gain the necessary skills that most 5 year olds have that help them understand opposites, and things that don’t match.

Best of luck darling.
:slight_smile::wink:

congrats on the beatport chart lance!!

same here  and i like when people post personal productions because the community is so friendly that you can ask them questions on how they did a certain part or anything

basically guys if you spot a spammer report them asap and feel free to abuse them.

And my Five pinkies to that.

Damn. Missed the Fake Cartier watch dude. Was gonna bust out my whole pulp fiction P.O.W speech too … And now, little man, I give the watch to you.
