The radio? The charts? It’s called “Top 40” for a reason
= p
oh yea true… but its so hard to get them on my computer…
Damn kids and your Rock & Roll 8-track tapes! ![]()
Google “top 40” or try this:
I’m guessing you have a pretty good “Shitty Music Filter” on your computer then, eh? Gotta love those things for keeping all that trash away from your carefully cultivated music collection ![]()
In all seriousness (I have no need for top40 so these are just guesses) the iTunes store is probably your friend just look in Dance or Pop, etc… You’ll probably find some stuff. Echoing Lambox, Google is always your friend.
Good luck with the hunt, top 40 seems to be a necessary evil for finding gigs easily… thank goodness I’m happy to stay in the bedroom for now ![]()
Does it make your ears bleed in disgust? Does it make you want to go to the nearest 4-way intersection and do jump-ropes with your small intestine? Does it sound like something that came out of a newborns bottom? Then you just found a top 40 track!
But in all seriousness, google is your friend.

check your local radio station’s website or something, and check if they have a top songs list, for instance there’s a radio station in Toronto called CHUM FM and they have a weekly top 40 countdown every Saturday or Sunday.
rofl you beat me to it
yes, top 40 is the easiest music to find, you shouldn’t have any problems there
dont know if it’s off topic but its about top40 music.
im still a bedroom DJ with aspirations but do you people with more experience ever play music you actually dont want to hear just because you know the crowd might like it? some top40 is ok but some is genuinely horrible, take america’s number 1 from that link above for example, the katy perry song is painful to the ears. i’m not sure i’d be able to bring myself to play something i hated, or is that part of the DJs job until he/she can get enough reputation to play what they want?
I go to my local pop radio station websites and they have a top 100 list. i normally search through that and buy what I think is good. Kiss108 and jamn945 are the two stations i normally browse but try whatever is local to you!
dunno, I don’t mind that california girls song TBH, and I generally don’t mind most of the top 40 stuff, but yes i will play something that i’m not particular fond of, if I start getting a few requests from different ppl for it. This happened last week when I played “your man” by Down With Webster at a kegger… would have never thought.
Some are lucky to spin at clubs that specialize in EDM and such, while others are stuck getting payed to play stuff they would not normally play in their car stereo.
That is just the way it is.
